The Verzeichnis Lieferbarer Bücher (VLB) is the central and most comprehensive data platform for the German-language book industry – and thus the basis for marketing your publications. Already, more than 22,000 publishing firms and publishers as well as approximately 2.5 million titles are indexed in detail in the independent database. With the entry into the VLB, you create optimal metadata and generate the greatest-possible reach for your publications, even as a self-publisher. The VLB entry allows bookshops to order your publication from you directly. A requirement for the title registration is an ISBN, with which the reference address for the bookshops is recorded simultaneously. In this way, your publication can be found by all bookshops and in nearly all bookselling online shops. Your readers thus have the full selection and can obtain your publications everywhere. Additionally, by registering your publication with the VLB, you make the fixed price of your publication known to the entire book industry on a binding basis.
